Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 48hr Review: Impressions, Design, and Screen Quality
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is a solid flagship phone.
- Phone design features flatter sides and sharp corners, making it feel very big and imposing.
- The primary caveat is the camera, as the reviewer still doesn't love Samsung's processing.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra offers improved design and display quality.
- The titanium frame now has a matte feel and a grippier texture, making it more comfortable to hold.
- The 6.1-inch display with smaller bezels and peak brightness of 2,600 nits offers a visually stunning experience, especially for watching movies.
Samsung S24 Ultra has a quality flat screen and good performance.
- The screen is flat and immersive, with no chin, and the performance is smooth with 60 frames per second and minimal drop frames.
- Initial impression of battery life wasn't great with heavy usage, but performance has been good overall.
Samsung's generative AI features are impressive
- The AI can transcribe and summarize meetings with multiple speakers
- It can change the tone of messages, but may not always get it right
AI video editing feature enhances video playback experience
- Long pressing increases frame rate, allowing playback at quarter speed
- Automatically fills in areas when straightening images to retain wide angle
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has impressive AI features and a premium look, but the heavy processing impacts camera quality.
- AI features like Circle to search and transcription are useful for daily use.
- The heavy processing affects the camera quality, resulting in overly crispy shots.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra camera offers manual control with impressive image quality.
- The camera allows for tele macro shots in manual mode, providing more control and customization.
- The sensor has been upgraded to 50 megapixels, resulting in better quality images and wider aperture lens.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is a solid and expensive phone with impressive camera specs.
- The camera includes a primary 200 megapixel camera, three times Zoom, 12 megapixel ultra-wide camera, and 8K video capability.
- Consideration for upgrade is not worth it for S23 Ultra owners, but for older phone users, the performance boost and imaging enhancements are impressive.
